    Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) has an opening for an Assessment Clinician with the CALL Program. This position is with the Nationwide Children's Hospital Behavioral Health Community Assessment and Intervention Services Team. It is part of a unique collaboration between NCH Behavioral Health and Franklin County Children Services (FCCS). The CALL (Consultation, Assessment, Linkage, and Liaison) Assessment Clinician is responsible for completing diagnostic assessments for children,adolescents and families involved in multiple systems of care, developing recommendations for level of care and evidence-based treatment programs, and providing behavioral health consultation and training with child welfare caseworkers on mental health symptoms and resources. Brief intervention, including crisis intervention, may also be provided as well as linkage to appropriate ongoing services.

    This position requires occasional early evening appointments. This position does not have on-call responsibilities. The CALL clinicians are located within the FCCS offices, and assessments occur at the FCCS offices, as well as occasional assessments in the community. Clinicians with interest or experience in diagnostic assessment with ANY of the following: infants/toddlers, preschool, school-age, teens or young adults should apply. Training/supervision for these populations is also available. An ideal candidate for this position will show the ability to build relationships across systems to increase collaboration, work independently to balance tasks and deadlines, show experience in assessment skills, and maintain flexibility in accomplishing tasks. The Assessment Clinician will gain valuable experience in identifying and assessing mental health, AOD, and trauma symptoms, in working with the child welfare population, and via exposure to best practice in child welfare and the integration of behavioral health within child welfare.


    1. Masters or doctoral degree from an accredited university or professional school of Counseling, Social Work or Marriage and Family Therapy.
    2. Appropriate Independent Ohio licensure.
    3. Demonstrated skills and abilities in providing and managing behavioral healthcare to children, adolescent and families.
    4. Experience in behavioral health diagnostic assessment required.
    5. Familiarity with youth/family mental health agencies and services within Franklin County desired.
    6. Strengths-focused.
    7. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to establish and maintain positive relationships with patients, families, peers and community representatives.
    8. Experience using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy preferred.
    9. To maintain reliable transportation, and both an acceptable driving record and automobile insurance, with acceptable coverage for business driving/transporting of consumers, in accordance with NCH policies.




    This position within the Behavioral Health Community Assessment and Intervention Services Team will be responsible for the clinical and administrative supervision of clinicians assigned to the expanding Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) team. Primary responsibilities of these clinicians will be to provide ECMH services for families with children ages 0-6, including using the Incredible Years groups in classroom and neighborhood settings. The ECMH Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination of clinician services to achieve the most effective, efficient and culturally competent service delivery to children and families. The Supervisor will provide clinical services (such as developmentally-appropriate diagnostic assessment and Incredible Years) as well as assist with program development, with the management and fiscal accountability of program budgets, and with efforts to develop partnerships with internal teams, departments, and/or individual staff toward the goal of a multi-disciplinary initiative within Behavioral Health and Nationwide Children’s. The Supervisor will help to establish and maintain working relationships with community organizations, key external stakeholders and will promote positive working relationships with internal departments at NCH. The Supervisor will also monitor quality assurance standards, provide input into utilization review and resource management and collect/monitor outcome data.


    1. Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling or related field.
    2. Appropriate Independent Ohio licensure required (LISW, PCC, PhD, IMFT) with Supervision designation.
    3. Experience working with children and their families.
    4. Training in early childhood and related evidence-based treatment models such as Incredible Years, PCIT, Child-Parent Psychotherapy preferred.
    5. Two or more years of experience as a clinical supervisor or coordinator of an Early Childhood Mental Health program in an organization providing social or mental health services desired
    6. At least 5 years of experience in Early Childhood Mental Health and Ohio Early Childhood Mental Health Professional Credential.
    7. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and lead staff, as well as to represent the agency to stakeholders.
    8. Experience in behavioral health diagnostic assessment and classroom consultation preferred.
    9. Familiarity with youth/family mental health agencies and services within Franklin County desired.
