I am a newly licensed PC but have been in the mental health field since 1985. I have mental health experience in outpatient community mental health, inpatient psychiatry, and 13 years in private practice. I have training and experience treating a number of mental health problems and disorders, with expertise and special interest in adult mood and anxiety disorders, psychoeducational group therapy, and couples counseling.
My theoretical viewpoint to counseling is integrative, however, I have a strong background in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, using techniques and orientation from this perspective in problem solving. I have an interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. I also recognize the relationship between mind, body, and soul and therefore see great value in integrating spirituality/faith perspective into the counseling process with clients who wish to do so.
I am currently seeking part-time employment to suppliment part-time hours in private practice. Specifically I am interested in crisis assessment/counseling, mental health diagnositc assessments, and or mental health education opportunities.
