The Ohio University Division of Student Affairs seeks 1 full-time licensed clinical counselor to join an exciting team of professionals who have a dual mission of training and service excellence. CPS is a comprehensive university counseling center located in rural Southeastern Ohio. Because of the limited availability of external counseling resources, CPS provides individual, group, and couples counseling as well as outreach and consultation to the Ohio University main and the regional campuses. The center is currently staffed with 1 full and 1 part-time psychiatrist and 6 licensed psychologists and counselors. The center also serves as an APPIC approved pre-doctoral internship (3 positions), and a practicum training site for graduate students in counseling and psychology diagnosis, assessment, and psycho-educational programming.

The ability to provide mental health consultation for faculty and staff is essential. The successful candidates will have a demonstrated understanding of the developmental issues of college students. Experience providing counseling services to diverse populations including students of color, international students, non-traditional students, veterans, and LGBTQ students is highly desirable. A strong demonstrated commitment to diversity and multicultural competency is expected.

Decisions of the CPS staff are governed by licensure, ethics and standards of practice; licensing requirements of the State of Ohio; Ohio University policies and procedures; CPS policies and procedures; and HIPAA Privacy Act Standards.
