Art & Soul of Trauma-Informed
Care for Clinicians

by Dr. Jamie Marich

6 Continuing Education Hours Available for only $20!

While the concept of trauma-informed care has become more of a buzzword in the helping professions, many specialists in trauma are challenging the field to take it a step further. In this day-long intensive, participants will explore what it means to be trauma-focused in their delivery of clinical services, not simply trauma-informed. Using the SAMHSA principles of trauma-informed care as a foundation, along with other definitions and perspectives about defining human trauma and grief recovery, participants are encouraged to think critically about how they provide services to recovering populations. In the second portion of the workshop, after establishing this critical foundation, participants are led through several exercises that will encourage them to examine the therapeutic relationship and empathy as part of a trauma-focused intervention plan.
