Using the Wellness Model of Living to Inform Treatment & Self-Care Practices (no NBCC credit)

Participants will experience and learn ways to assess for individual wellness, create realistic goals for change, & inform those they support on how to lead a more healthy and balanced physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social lifestyle.

Participants will also experience a variety of wellness-based activities and exercises through break out sessions that can be used for implementation for school & clinical counselors including mindfulness, yoga, and guided meditation

Date: Saturday, May 6, 2017 from 12Noon-5pm (Lunch included)

Program Objectives:

Goal 1: Participants will learn how wellness theory outlines a comprehensive paradigm with which to more effectively support and treat children, adolescents, and adults.

Goal 2: Participants will be challenged to incorporate wellness theory and a model in their particular school or clinical setting and help clients and students set and achieve measurable goals to make and sustain healthy lifestyle changes.

Goal 3: Participants will learn about and experience a variety of ways to incorporate wellness activities and receive a variety of tools for immediate implementation.

CE Hours in Progress

Cost: $40.00 for non-OCA/OSCA COCA members;  $20.00 for OCA/OSCA COCA members;  $10.00 for graduate students
