    This is a generalist counselor position responsible for providing mental health services to student clients at Counseling and Psychological Services, including after hours emergency, supervising Master’s level graduate interns in Counselor Education and Social Work, and engaging in outreach programming.

    Primary Accountabilities:

    1. Provide individual, couple, and group counseling, doing triage and Intake, crisis intervention, and after-hours crisis response.
    2. Supervise and evaluate the clinical work of Master’s level interns in Counselor Education and Social Work.
    3. Attend weekly clinical team and staff meetings, participate in center and division wide committees.
    4. Perform administrative responsibilities and complete necessary documentation and preparation for counseling sessions.

    The Counselor is expected to practice in a manner that is consistent with level of training and expertise according to ethical guidelines and HIPAA regulations.
     
    Minimum Qualifications The candidate must be independently licensed for at least three years as a Clinical Counselor and have supervisor designation or eligible to get supervisor designation within a year of hire in Ohio. Out of state applicants must be licensed in their home state A) independently diagnose and treat mental and emotional disorders, and B) supervise counselors; they must research and submit with their application accurate information about their time frame for licensure in Ohio including supervisor designation.

    The counselor must be capable of independently developing treatment strategies, evaluating the competence of graduate trainees under his or her supervision.

    Master’s Degree in Counseling required.
