Journal Focus
Welcome to the Ohio Journal of Professional Counseling (OJPC)! After much deliberation and suggestion, we are now prepared to make the journal a reality. As this is the only, completely on-line journal among all state branches of the American Counseling Association, we have the opportunity for risk, flexibility, and influence. The interest in presenting the journal in this manner is a combination of technological initiative, cost (none), timely publication, and opportunity to support the counseling profession in Ohio. More specifically, OJPC will serve as an outlet for professors, practitioners, and students to contribute to the profession through publication. In remaining consistent with a variety of topics and contributors, OJPC encourages manuscripts that are either research based (quantitative or qualitative) or conceptual. Futhermore, manuscript submissions will be on-line, as will peer reviews and final publication. The first edition is a representation of topics deemed relevant to our role in the mental health profession. Subsequent editions will appear on-line approximately every 3 months and will have been peer reviewed. It is my hope that all members of the Ohio Counseling Association will view this journal as their own. With ownership comes the responsibility of participation and the opportunity for contribution.
