Supporting Your Client in the College Environment

 

Who should attend: Anyone who works with college aged youth.

About this event: Over the past two decades, there has been a significant increase in individuals with existing mental health diagnoses attending college.  Student Accessibility/Disability Services offices provide academic accommodations to assist and support students with visible and invisible diagnoses persist and succeed in the higher education environment through providing appropriate academic accommodations.  This presentation will introduce mental health clinicians to college accommodations and provide guidance on completing necessary paperwork for their clients.  This presentation will also cover how mental health symptoms may manifest differently in the college academic environment and how to assist clients attending college with appropriate on-campus resources for support and assistance for academic success.

Cost – This is a free training.

Education credits – 1.5 CEUs available.
